Pier Luigi Filosso, M.D. is Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery at the Medical Faculty of the University of Torino (Italy). He is also the Chair of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) Lung Neuroendocrine Tumors Working Group; he also was the Secretary of the International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group (ITMIG). He is active Member of the most important International Thoracic Scientific Societies: the Italian Society of Thoracic Surgery (SICT); the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS); the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC); the International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group (ITMIG). His fields of interest are: Thoracic Oncology, Lung and Thymic NETs, Surgical Treatment of Lung, Mediastinal and Pleural Neoplasms, Emphysema and Management of Thoracic Trauma. He published 190 papers in International peer reviewed journals on Thoracic Oncology issues.

Gabriel Liberale, MD, PhD, ESBQ, graduated as a medical doctor in 1997 at Université Libre de Bruxelles (Brussels, Belgium) and later obtained his PhD at the same university with a doctoral thesis entitled 'Role of ICG-Fluorescence Imaging in the staging and treatment of colorectal cancer'. Currently, he is a senior surgeon in the department of Surgical Oncology at Institut J. Bordet (ULB) and he is Head of Digestive Surgery.
Gabriel Liberale is ‘associate professor’ of Surgical Oncology at ULB Medical School and he is responsible for the management of peritoneal surface malignancies of colorectal and ovarian cancer. He has an interest in Fluorescence Imaging in the field of surgical oncology including the sentinel lymph node detection. He is (co)author of over 60 publications. He is a board member of the Royal Belgian Society for Surgery (RBSS), Belgian Surgical Society of Oncology (BSSO) and Belgian Group for Endoscopic Surgery (BGES). He is a member of several international scientific societies (European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), European Society of Molecular Imaging (ESMI), …).
Dr. Liberale accepted to give two lectures during the virtual BSW dedicated to COVID-19:

Jonas Brouwers obtained his MD from the Leuven university in 2018.
He is currently combining his residency in orthopaedic surgery with a master in healthcare policy and management and is a PhD-researcher at the Leuven Institute for Healthcare Policy.
At present, he is president of the Leuven Association of Medical Residents (LVGA) and board member of the Flemish Association of Medical Specialists in Training.
As such, he is also member of the medical council from the UZ Leuven and of the Permanent EducationCcommittee of the faculty of medicine in Leuven.

Gabrielle Van Ramhorst obtained her MD in Leiden in 2004. She trained as a surgeon in Vlaardingen, Rotterdam and Amsterdam and did fellowships in complex pelvic surgery in Amsterdam and Sydney.
In 209, she was a consultant in oncologic surgery focussing on complex oncologic pelvic surgery in Glasgow and was honorary senior clinical lecturer at the university of Glasgow.
Since one year, she is consultant in oncologic surgery in the University hospital in Ghent. Her focus lies with complex surgery for colorectal and gynecological cancer, recurrent rectal cancer and retroperitoneal sarcomas.
Dr. van Ramshorst accepted to give a lecture during the virtual BSW dedicated to COVID-19:
- "Operating on COVID-19 patients : M & M : an international cohort study" during the 'Surgery in times of COVID-19: What are the risks?' session on November 27th 2020.
Carlos Magalhães, MDCHU Porto, Portugal

Carlos Magalhaes is a general surgeon.
He is director of the Ambulatory General Surgery Department at the university hospital of Porto.
Besides, he is president Portuguese Ambulatory Surgery Association (APCA) and President Elect of the International association of ambulatory surgery (IAAD).
He teaches at the Universidade do Porto - ICBAS / Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto.
