Patient panel at the CWIG Annual Meeting 2026
As clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals dedicated to the care of individuals with chest wall deformities, we spend much of our time discussing anatomy, surgical techniques, outcomes, and scientific evidence. Yet at the heart of all these efforts are the patients and families whose experiences shape the true impact of our work.
At this year's edition, together with a patient testimonial on day 1 of the conference, we have reserved a dedicated time slot on Wednesday 16 september 08.30-10.00 where attending patient representatives will be given the opportunity to meet eaach other. The panel will provide a valuable opportunity to hear directly from individuals as well as their peers who have lived with chest wall deformities. Their stories offer insights that cannot be fully captured by clinical measurements or research data alone. They help us better understand the physical, emotional, social, and practical challenges patients face, as well as the factors that contribute to successful treatment and long-term well-being.
To establish this highly needed exchange of patient views on the field of research and care, we will merge the patient group with the allied health professionals session later that morning. Doing so, we aim to have these you as a patient-panelist to share their personal journeys, perspectives, and experiences with health care providers and researchers. Your openness and honesty as a patient will help inform clinicians on practice, guide future research, and strengthen our commitment to patient-centered care.
If you are a patient interested in the aspects of chest wall care, don't hesitate and announce your presence by registering via the registration module on this website!
